Museum opened in 1920 on the Mariemont estate near Morlanwelz, built around the collections bequeathed by industrialist Raoul Warocqué. Rebuilt by architect Roger Bastin after a 1960 fire destroyed the original château, it holds Tournai porcelain, Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities and Far Eastern art, set within a park dotted with sculptures by Rodin and Meunier.
