Abbey church rebuilt from 1135 under Abbot Suger and regarded as the birthplace of Gothic architecture. Necropolis of the French monarchy, it holds more than seventy recumbent effigies and tombs, from Dagobert to Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette.
