The Domaine régional de Villarceaux lies in a small valley of the Vexin français, in the commune of Chaussy, and brings together on one site two houses from very different periods. Down in the valley stands the 16th-century manor, associated with the memory of Ninon de Lenclos, who stayed there in the 17th century; up on the higher ground stands an 18th-century château whose original interior decoration has been preserved. Between the two, a sequence of terraced gardens, basins and reflecting pools makes use of the springs that feed the valley. The Île-de-France Region, which has maintained and programmed the site since 1989, runs a cultural season there every year. Access to the estate and to most of the events held on it, guided tours included, is free — a rarity for a château complex of this scale. The estate sits within the boundaries of the Vexin français regional nature park. On practical matters, the 2026 season runs from 4 April to 1 November, Tuesday to Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm; for the rest of the year the estate is closed. The ground is very uneven and is only partly accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Dogs are allowed on a lead, and picnicking is permitted only during the "Samedis à la campagne" events. Severe weather (storms, thunderstorms) can cause a partial or total closure at short notice.
