Mansion built between 1625 and 1630 in the Marais by architect Jean Androuet du Cerceau for the financier Mesme Gallet, then bought in 1634 by Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully, who had its interior decorated. Its courtyard and garden façades, adorned with allegorical reliefs of the Seasons and Elements, rank among the finest examples of Louis XIII style; restored, it has housed the headquarters of the Centre des monuments nationaux since 1967.
