Royal museum in Tervuren built between 1905 and 1910 by architect Charles Girault in a Beaux-Arts style inspired by the Petit Palais, growing out of Léopold II's 1897 colonial exhibition. Renamed from the Museum of the Belgian Congo in 1960, it holds vast natural-history, ethnographic and archival collections on Central Africa and reopened in 2018 after a renovation that confronts the museum's colonial history.
