Archaeological centre at the Scladina cave in Sclayn, near Andenne, where excavators found the remains of a young Neanderthal known as the Child of Sclayn on 16 July 1993, dated to around 127,000 years ago. Excavation of the cave's more than 120 sediment layers, spanning over 100,000 years of occupation, continues, and the site remains open to visitors as Belgium's only permanent public excavation.
