A 54-metre neoclassical column raised at Wimille between 1804 and 1841, funded by the soldiers of the Grande Armée whom Napoleon had gathered at the Camp de Boulogne for a planned invasion of England. Construction stalled after the Empire's fall and resumed under the July Monarchy; the column is topped by a statue of Napoleon.
