The Espace Richaud occupies Versailles' former royal hospital, a large 18th-century complex whose domed chapel is the centrepiece. Disused for many years, the building underwent a restoration completed in 2015, the city having chosen to turn it into a publicly accessible cultural venue rather than hand it over to some other use. The result is an unusual volume for the Paris region: two levels of flexible spaces arranged around the chapel. The venue has no permanent collection. It works in exhibition seasons, alternating heritage subjects and contemporary art, and also hosts concerts, lectures and live performance. In 2026 it is showing the retrospective "Leonardo Cremonini. Le Regard en miroir", from 27 May to 5 October. Ticketing mirrors that of the Musée Lambinet, run by the same municipal department: 7 € full price, 5 € reduced, 9.50 € for the combined ticket with the Lambinet valid over eight days. Free admission applies permanently to under-26s, jobseekers, pass Éducation holders and disability card holders with their companion. And, as at the Lambinet, entry is free for everyone on the last Sunday of the month. Open Wednesday to Sunday; closed to the public from 3 to 16 August 2026.
