Square-plan bastioned fortress built from the 1550s under Henri II, on the Saint-Roch peninsula, around the Tour Saint-Laurent, which rises twenty-six metres above the sea. Vauban inspected it in 1679 and 1682; decommissioned and later restored, it has been open to visitors since 1998.
