The departmental museum occupies the former episcopal palace of Beauvais, built from as early as the 12th century on the Gallo-Roman ramparts, fitted with a fortified gatehouse in the 14th century and later rebuilt in the Renaissance. Opened in 1981, it displays medieval sculpture, old master painting, ceramics and a 19th-century collection featuring Corot and Sisley.
