Founded in 1828 in the former priory of the Knights of Malta, adjoining the church of Saint-Jean-de-Malte. Enriched in 1849 by the bequest of the Aix painter François-Marius Granet, it displays paintings and sculpture from the 14th to the 20th century, nine canvases by Cézanne, and, in the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs, the Jean Planque collection.
