Former coal mine in Marcinelle, site of a disaster on 8 August 1956 that killed 262 miners, 136 of them Italian; listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site among Wallonia's major mining sites in 2012, its 25-hectare grounds now house an Industry Museum in the old pithead bathhouses and a Glass Museum, alongside a memorial space on the 1956 tragedy.
