Royal residence whose four wings juxtapose four periods: the 13th-century Estates Hall, the brick-and-stone Louis XII wing, the François I wing with its spiral staircase, and the classical wing built for Gaston d'Orléans by François Mansart. The scene of the assassination of the Duke of Guise in 1588, it houses the Museum of Fine Arts.
