Museum laid out in the vast basements of the Palais Rohan, whose collections trace back to the bequest of the scholar Jean-Daniel Schoepflin in the late 18th century. Reopened in 1992 after renovation, it unfolds across 1,200 square metres the history of Alsace from the Palaeolithic to the early Middle Ages, with a rich Gallo-Roman collection from Argentorate.
