Former residence of the Counts of Geneva and later the Dukes of Nemours, overlooking the old town, the château was bought by the municipality in 1952 and has housed the municipal collections since 1956. Alpine archaeology, regional art, contemporary art and natural science sit side by side, with more than 10,000 ethnographic objects.
