Housed since 1920 in the former bishop's palace, at the foot of the cathedral, and entirely renovated between 2002 and 2008. It presents the archaeology and palaeontology of the Charente region, including the Agris helmet, a gold-plated iron Celtic helmet from the 4th century BCE, a substantial collection of African and Oceanic art, and European paintings.
