Founded in 1923 and at first devoted to local history and traditions, it reopened in 1972 with a focus on the ceramic arts, its collections having been scattered during the war. It occupies the former apartments of the villa of Paul de Geiger, director of the faience works from 1871 to 1913, whose faience salon has been listed as a historic monument since 1979.
