Housed in the former Rivière-Sauvageau bleaching works of 1881, a monument to the industrial architecture of the Choletais, the museum opened in 1995. It follows the processing of hemp, flax and cotton through to weaving and bleaching, and devotes considerable space to the famous red handkerchief of Cholet.
