Museum housed since 1846 in the former law courts building of 1760, whose south wing was destroyed by the bombing of 1944. Assembled by the naturalist and draughtsman Charles-Alexandre Lesueur, its collections combine palaeontology, prehistory and zoology with 8,000 drawings and manuscripts.
