Museum on the second floor of Palazzo Pitti, established in 1924 to trace Italian art from the late-eighteenth-century Neoclassical era to the early twentieth century. Its more than thirty rooms hold a notable group of Macchiaioli paintings by Giovanni Fattori, Silvestro Lega and Telemaco Signorini, many from the Diego Martelli bequest of 1897.
