Museum in the office building Vasari designed from 1560 for Cosimo I de' Medici, which became a gallery for the family's art collection and opened to visitors in the sixteenth century, making it one of the oldest museums in the world. Its rooms hold an unrivalled collection of Italian Renaissance painting, including Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera.
