Garden of the former royal stables in Florence, part of the Uffizi Galleries and Pitti Palace complex, built between 1866 and 1869 during Florence's period as capital of Italy to house the court's horses and grooms. The green area between the Boboli Garden and Porta Romana includes the stable buildings, now home to the Istituto d'Arte, and the Pagliere hayloft, intended as a museum of twentieth-century figurative art.
