Archaeological park at Cumae, the first Greek colony founded on the Italian mainland, established around the 8th century BC by settlers from Euboea. The site includes the acropolis with temples to Apollo and Jupiter and the Cave of the Sibyl, a long trapezoidal gallery cut into the rock and associated with the Cumaean Sibyl described by Virgil.
