Established in 1955 at Naquane near Capo di Ponte, this was the first archaeological park created in Italy and, in 1979, became the country's first UNESCO World Heritage site. Spread over 14 hectares, it displays 104 engraved rocks among the more than 300,000 figures carved across Val Camonica by the ancient Camunni people from around 8000 BCE through the Roman period.
