Fourteenth-century château remodelled during the Renaissance, where the writer Roger de Bussy-Rabutin, exiled by order of Louis XIV after his scandalous Histoire amoureuse des Gaules, spent seventeen years commissioning more than five hundred portraits of the court. His apartments form a satirical gallery of the Sun King's reign.
