Bayonne's museum of fine arts, born from the donation made in 1891 by the painter Léon Bonnat and housed in a building by Charles Planckaert inaugurated in 1901. Renamed in 2011 after the addition of the Paul-César Helleu collection, it preserves paintings by El Greco, Rubens, Goya and Degas, and one of the finest collections of drawings in France.
