A Palais des Arts opened in 1900, designed by the Nantes architect Clément Josso and arranged around a patio topped by a glass roof. Enlarged by the firm Stanton Williams and reopened in 2017 with the translucent marble Cube, it displays more than nine hundred works from the 13th century to the present, from the Italian primitives of the Cacault collection to contemporary art.
