Founded in 1846 by the Société Archéologique du Finistère, the museum occupies the former palace of the bishops of Cornouaille, whose Renaissance-style Tour de Rohan was begun in 1508. It presents archaeology, Breton costumes, furniture and wood sculpture, as well as an extensive collection of Quimper faience.
