One of the oldest museums in France, founded in 1793 and opened in 1795, it occupies the former Augustinian convent, begun in 1310 and consecrated in 1504, restored in the 19th century under Viollet-le-Duc. It holds paintings from the 14th to the 19th century and a major collection of Romanesque and Gothic sculpture.
