Created by the city of Montauban in 1989 following a gift from a former Resistance deportee, it occupies the Espace Perbosc. Devoted at first to the 1939–45 conflict in France and Tarn-et-Garonne, it broadened in 2014, with new staging, to the conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries.
