Set in the former archbishop's palace beside the cathedral, the museum grew from works seized during the Revolution, with a first display opening to the public in 1795. Its collections range from antiquity to contemporary art, including two panels by Andrea Mantegna; the listed site preserves a formal French garden and a cedar of Lebanon.
