Successor to the first museum of Mende, opened in 1836 by the Société des Lettres, Sciences et Arts de la Lozère, it reopened in 2022 in the Hôtel de Ressouches, a 17th-century mansion. Archaeology, history and fine art there trace the past of the Gévaudan, from Gallo-Roman antiquity to the present day.
