Housed in the Hôtel Monconseil, built in 1738 for the Marquis Étienne Guinot de Monconseil on the banks of the Charente. Assembled from 1920 onward by the collector Abel Mestreau, it holds a rich collection of Saintonge folk arts and traditions, including headdresses, costumes, furniture, earthenware and reconstructed period rooms.
