National museum conceived during Marc Chagall's lifetime around the seventeen canvases of the Biblical Message, which he gave to France in 1966. Opened in 1973 in a spare building by André Hermant, it also displays stained glass, mosaic, sculpture and gouaches, one of the largest collections of the painter's work.
