Octagonal brick baptistery commissioned by the Ostrogothic king Theodoric the Great in the late 5th century for Ravenna's Arian community. Its dome preserves a mosaic of the Baptism of Christ surrounded by the twelve apostles offering crowns; it forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site 'Early Christian Monuments of Ravenna', inscribed in 1996.
