Roman rustic villa near Ravenna, active during the 1st and 2nd centuries CE as an agricultural estate supplying provisions to the imperial fleet based at nearby Classe, before declining after the fleet's personnel were transferred to Constantinople in 330 CE. Discovered in 1938 and excavated from the 1950s, the 8,000-square-metre complex preserves geometric floor mosaics that rank it among the best-preserved Roman villas in northern Italy.
