National archaeological museum of the Basilicata region, inaugurated in 2005 and named after Dinu Adamesteanu, the Romanian archaeologist who served as the region's first superintendent from 1964 to 1977. It occupies Palazzo Loffredo, built by the Guevara family in the late 15th century, and displays finds from the Enotri, Greek, Apulian, Peuketiantes, Lucanian and Roman periods.
