Urban archaeological park running beneath and around the historic centre of Buccino, on the site of the ancient Lucanian and Roman town of Volcei, whose walls date to the 4th century BCE. Opened in 2003 following extensive excavations carried out after the 1980 earthquake, the park's underground and elevated walkways reveal mosaics, roads and shops layered beneath the medieval and modern town.
