Archaeological park on the site of Scolacium, a Roman colony established under Gaius Gracchus in the late 2nd century BC and further developed under the emperor Nerva, on the Ionian coast near Catanzaro. Set among olive groves, it preserves the forum, a theatre seating around 5,000 spectators and Calabria's only known Roman amphitheatre, alongside the Norman-era ruins of the Santa Maria della Roccella church.
