Museum and open-air site on the ruins of Luna, the Roman colony founded on the Tyrrhenian coast in 177 BC and long prosperous through the marble trade from the nearby Apuan quarries. Established in 1964, the museum stands amid the excavations and displays sculpture, mosaics, coins and household objects from the town, whose visible remains include the forum, an amphitheatre and a theatre.
