National museum and archaeological park at Capo Colonna, on a promontory near Crotone that was sacred to Hera Lacinia from at least the 8th century BC. Its Doric temple, built around 470 BC over an earlier 7th-century structure, is now reduced to a single standing column about 8 metres tall; the museum displays votive offerings, including precious-metal finds, excavated from the sanctuary.
