Ghent University's museum, opened in 2020 on the Ledeganck campus and drawing on academic collections dating back to 1817, when King William I donated items to the university. It holds more than 400,000 objects spanning medicine, archaeology, ethnography and the history of science, alongside the adjoining Botanical Garden and its some 10,000 plant species.
