Cistercian abbey founded in 1144 by monks from Clairvaux in the Seye valley, in the Rouergue. Sold as national property in 1791 and given to the state in 1973, it preserves its Gothic church and chapter house and now houses one of the finest collections of postwar French art (1945-1975).
