Founded by municipal decree in 1852 from the collections of the Montauban science society, it bears the name of the naturalist and prehistorian Victor Brun (1805-1881), its curator from 1857. Housed in the former Cour des Aides, it holds mounted birds and mammals, regional fossils and the Orgueil meteorite.
