Romanesque keep built in the late 12th century by the Plantagenets, Henry II and then Richard the Lionheart, on the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise. Formed of two square towers linked by a 15th-century residential range, it served as a prison before being opened to visitors and hosting exhibitions.
