Villa that the explorer and orientalist Alexandra David-Néel bought in 1928 on her return from Tibet and named Samten Dzong, "fortress of meditation," before extending it with terraces and a tower that give it an Anglo-Tibetan appearance. Bequeathed to the town of Digne-les-Bains on her death in 1969, it preserves her Asian collections, her bedroom and her study.
