Opened to the public in September 1910 in a building erected from 1903 to 1910 to plans by the architect Chaudier, it brings together archaeology, fine art, ethnography and natural history. On display are the marble mausoleum of the Duke of Lesdiguières, carved by Jacob Richier, and a Bronze Age belt discovered at Réallon.
