The church of Saint-Hugues-de-Chartreuse, in the heart of the massif, entirely decorated by the painter Arcabas, who worked there from 1952 to 1992. Made a departmental museum of the Isère in 1984, the building brings together 111 works — canvases, stained glass, liturgical furnishings and a predella of 53 panels — among the most complete ensembles of 20th-century sacred art in France.
