An 11th-century embroidery nearly 70 metres long, it recounts the conquest of England by William, Duke of Normandy, up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066, and has been listed on UNESCO's Memory of the World register since 2007. It is displayed in the former grand seminary of Bayeux, built from 1693, now the Centre Guillaume-le-Conquérant.
