Opened on 14 July 1981 in Bayeux, the first major town liberated after D-Day, it recounts the seventy-seven days of the Battle of Normandy, from 7 June to 29 August 1944. Uniforms, weapons and military vehicles, including Sherman and Churchill Crocodile tanks, accompany a documentary film.
